The hand that feeds: People are people.

A new beginning calls for a new set of redundant titles.

Don't you think?

We like to describe people as two different kinds of behavior. The "people person" and the "not people" person. Creative i know, i didn't invent it...

When you come to think about a 'people person' what do you think? Someone who always fits in, finds conversation, makes friends at the drop of the dime. I know that is what i think when i hear the phrase.

On the opposite end of the spectrum however, you have the 'not people persons', who by stereotype, are antisocial or very to themselves.

The thing that doesn't make sense to me the evolution of society, that is the true meaning of these titles. The people who adapt, and the people who don't.

We often think of the 'non people person' as someone who is inferior, who just doesn't "get it". When the truth may be the opposite. These past few months i have met people who are not necessarily going to win a popularity contest, but that doesn't matter to them, they were just humble.

I suppose the people i mentioned you could consider "weird" not wearing popular brand clothing or very bizarre hairstyles, but you know, since when was being an individual a bad thing?

In society, there are topics that you obviously can't talk about freely, one of which is sex, or weight or anything "uncomfortable". Because this is society, we are plastic we don't talk about our flaws, our differences. Right? Right?

Society is a mold, an ever changing one. The people person may be willing to always adapt, make friends, be "popular". But there is more to it then that.

Those people i mentioned before? Individuals? They just don't care. Really don't. There is a sense of freedom of being yourself. They may not be socially accepted, but that doesn't bother them. You may call these people freaks, but why? They have the balls to be themselves.

I suppose this is a rant of sorts, and at the same time hopefully an eye opener for people. Things are never as they seem.

Double D me, captain.

I'm back...maybe.

Due to many things happening in life, this blog has been put to wayside for many, many months. Honestly, i love talking about random things, it entertains me. I am not getting the response however that i was hoping for. I tried getting sponsored, that didn't help. I tried putting the link on my Facebook account (which will remain anonymous), i got a lot of views from that, but no real in depth subscribers or followers.

With all that in mind, i don't plan to write on a scheduled basis as i did in the past, unless i get some people tunning into the blog. I will write freely perhaps couple times a day, maybe once a week, i don't know honestly. For those people who had been following me i am ever so grateful and i hope you can help convince me to get this project started again.

Let the good times roll, DD.

Lolwut: Riddle time?

I am used to show admirality, i can be spoken a thousand different ways. I am in no exclusive language, but rarely my currency is accepted willingly. What am i?

Think about it.

Did you come to compliment? When you think about it, it is a complete paradox in itself. When in our development do we inherit such strange behavior with a basic, yet underthought, concept in our society.

If you don't understand what i am refering too, let me explain. When we are raised there are always those concepts of being a 'good' person. Always be modest, do the right thing, never cheat or steal, etc. When you give someone a compliment it conflicts with two of those fundimentals and leads to a general akwardness in a conversation no matter how light the topic.

When you give a compliment, how often do you in return, get a well recieved response? Majority of the time people hate compliments, why? It is a two edged sword that very few choose to be on the other end of. There is the route most take of not accepting them, in turn, leaving an akward window of conversation. Then there are those who embrace it with open arms, which often leaves off an impression of self centeredness.

The complete flux of the concept is that a compliment is NEVER a bad thing, infact, by definition it can't be. No matter how much of a ego-fiend a person may be, a compliment can still make them seem like the modest person in the world.

Maybe this is just me way overthinking things, but it alteast can lead to an investment to your time. Any way you slice it, there are few things one can openly say that causes such a bizzare reaction. Just saying.

Jams you just can't get out of your head: Chevelle.

Orignal, unorothodox, addictive..... all adjectives to describe the next "new" thing in this music industry. Fads change, people develop different tastes in music; and that once new thing, becomes old news. Chevelle was never one of those groups. Chevelle hit thier peak in the early 2000's but that didn't cause them to change thier style.

Sam Loeffler stated, "We have spent a lot of time making these songs something different from past records without losing the core of our passion. We are a hard rock, melodic band and it's still what drives us as musicians." Words spoken too true, the band has that essence to constantly be changing without losing thier core, and still make absolutely mind blowing music.

Thier unique and deep lyrics have a distinct, never rhyming, melody that you can't refuse to appriciate.

If you havn't heard songs by these guys outside the radio, you should check them out.

I'm bored, let's review: Antibodies.

I hope everyone had a good Easter, i know mine went pretty well, lots to eat.
I havn't had a chance to blog this weekend so hopefully i can redeem myself with a movie review.

Without further ado, i present to you my review of Antibodies:

Now, before i get into too much detail, i would like to point out that this movie is in German. There are subtitles avialable, even on Netflix, but if you can't stand subtitles i could totally relate. Luckily, i know some decent German i was able to roughly follow along.

Directed by Christian Alvart (ironicily the protagonist's sons first name). Produced by Theo Baltz and Boris Schonfelder. This German horror film had some unique twists to it, but in general, fell short to break away from any other similiar gore movie.

Getting past the German aspect of this movie, right from the start you start you feel weary as the killer of 14 children gets caught inside his home. I have to admit, at the begining i had a slight mix up of some of the characters as scenes and time periods began rolling in. The acting throughout the movie was pretty bad, there were several instances where the actors would say something or make a facial expression that left you asking, "what the hell?". The most annoying thing has to be there were many things left unanswered towards the end, perphaps the producers were afraid of straying away from the main plot.

On a more positive note, the story line was very interesting, could have used a few more twists, but overly well executed. The scenery was amazing, it could suck you into the movie and made you feel as though you were there. I felt the lines choosen, especially the murder, Gabreal, were well thought out and fitting. Too bad the actors did a terrible job of acting upon them.

What more can i say? The movie hand in hand was very, average. Is it worth the 2 hours? If you can't find something better to do, then probably. If you do so choose to watch the movie, remember:

If you have Netflix or a friend that has it, you can stream this movie instantly and no hassle, as the same with most the movies i review on this blog, there is nothing to lose even if i say it is terrible!

My ratings:

Pro: Solid and consistant story line.

Con: Bad acting/ build up.

My decision: I'll be nice 6/10

This Bothers Me: Flaws of IMs.

"Change is the only constant" Words that speak too true for the technological world. There are always strives to improve lives, whether it be to find a cure for an infectious disease or to just make checking email less of a hassle.

There is one thing i noticed though, instant messaging has become an epidemic. In theory, the concept was ment to support easier communication for people coast to coast, land mass to land mass. In many ways, this idea has been innovation and has obviously been adopted by many big names such as AOL, Yahoo, MSN and even some of the more popular social networks.

This topic however, relates to the darker side of Instant Messeges. Just as much as it has made conversations versatile, it has hindered our progression as mankind to be articulate.

How could that be possible? Just think about it. I am going to display a list of things that IMs have not helped, but hindered, in a more educated world:

1)Grammar: Probably the most evident and deserving of the number one spot. People just don't have the spelling or grammatical skills that we had when we actually cared how intelligent we sounded.

2) Sentence structure: If someone was IMing you with proper sentence structure, it would more then likely be considered weird.

3) No sense of tone in writing: I may be going out on a limb on this one but sometimes i don't know what the hell people are trying to imply with trivial statements.

4) Signing off mid-conversation: I see this mostly with facebook, i mean honestly, if you sign off because you forgot that you were talking to someone 20 seconds ago. I would get the impression that you have the tension span of an 8 year old.

5) Abbreviations: Lol, omg, wtf, go 2 the store. You can name it. Sometimes you see people that type with more abbreviations then words and you can barely understand what they are saying.

These are some of the things that us, as a human race, have recended our capability to write with. I see people with college educations miss-spelling the most simple things, it astonishes me.

Now, this has been a grim post in many senses so i figured i'd post something i made last night to lighten the mood:

This pretty much sums up what this entire post has been about. A picture is worth a thousand words.

Until next time, I heard your chick has [Double D]'s.

I salute you: That guy that always seems to send you an invite.

Through out the history of my teenage years, there has been a constant stream of "exciting" new social networks. "Twitter", "Myspace", "Facebook","The Facebook of Sex", i think you get the idea. The process would start all over again. You would make your new site, figure out how to customize your page, and put somewhere in your info that you hate drama, which is hippicritical with your teenage hormones.

Anyway.

There was always that one dude, you have no idea how you met him, you might have had a mutual friend a few years back or something. Either way you accepted his invite. That one dude, who no matter WHAT social network you join, he's one of the first five people to send you a friend request, guarenteed. The dude probably doesn't live remotely close to you, seems like just an average bro, and probably have never talked.

Now, this has plenty of rant fodder, but, this never really bothered me. In a time where the number of friends on your page represented wealth and power. I salute you Mr. Always seems to end up on my friends list.

Until next time, DD all day baby.

Some Sunday Solice: The power of threes.

Here it is, my list of the beautiful number three and what it represents:

God of War Three

The new buzz in the gaming world. Yes, this gaming series has lived up to its hype being one of the most successful action based series of modern time. With the new release of the third and final part of the trilogy, this might lead to my next point.....

Playstation 3

Yes, after all this time they finally have a sell point.(Joking! Feel free to laugh! Or am i...) With the release of GoW III, PS3 sales are finally starting up after being behind thier competitor, Xbox, since essentially release. What's this going to mean down the road? Who knows maybe they will keep up with the gaming world but they surely can't rely on a single title to keep them in the race. Nothing wrong with some healthy competition though, the 360 has had a tyranny in the video game market for far too long.

Three Days Grace

I'm not really concerned with the band but more so with the fact they are going to be performing at Rockfest '10. If you havn't been to one, i'd highly suggest you catch it one year. This anual showing is one of the bigger ones out of the year. Just about nothing happens in Kansas City, so this is a nice attraction for the city to prosper.

Less then three months until summer!

Finally, summer is around the corner. Parties and warm days by the water. If you live down south you probably could care less and possibly dread summer, but for people up north here, this is pretty much amazing. Personally, this is the biggest 3 i'm looking foward to. Let us hope we get a better summer then we had last year in New York, heh.

Dwayne Wade

A recent article on whosdatedwho.com featured this NBA superstar. First of all, i cant believe this is a legitimate site. Second of all, i really hate the publicity these guys get sometimes. Nothing against Wade, but it amazes me some of these people try to make a living on finding out who celebrities have dated. I mean if that is not lol-worthy then i don't know what is. This is probably one of the most humerously unbelievable things i've seen from a paparazzi, so unreal. Anyway i feel bad for the man.

This is Dauthi and until next time, this is Some Sunday Solice.

This bothers me: Keep your children's dignity.

I was sitting here bored, when i stubbled upon a blog about this women's child, 2 years old, to be viewed by the naked public. This blog was the final stone to budge my tolerence. I may get alot of haters about this post but honestly i don't care, when have i ever?

The internet is a very DANGEROUS place out there, things you wouldn't do in public why would you do on the internet? I don't understand i wish someone could elaborate...

Posting the childhood stories and pictures of your kids is a very very bad idea. First of all, the dignity, your kid is going to grow up in a very very oppinionated and publicly open world. Cherish the things about your child people as you should but don't expose them to the world for them to just find out 10 years from now at thier friends house. People say how a child with a celebrity caliber parent have thier lives ruined due to the publicity, how is this any different?

I said this above the internet is VERY dangerous, you DON'T know who is out there, please keep your children safe don't leave them out alone on the cyber playground for pedophiles and serial killers.

There are other ways to show your friends and family how cute and adorable your kids are, public hosted sites with no restrictions is NOT one of them.

Moral of my story? Think before you share something on the internet, especially something so precious. Please.

Lolwut: America is the best country in the world? Meet Denmark. Yes i said Denmark..

Posting about political views is usually frowned upon in this blog, but to lighten the mood i feel that the ideals presented here are quite shocking and very, very intresting, i do love my country but it doesn't mean one shouldn't ever question if it is truely doing the best it should.

First and foremost i would like to give thanks to my friend Matt for this rather intriguing topic. I would also like to thank Behar for the information to persue this point of discussion. With out further ado:

V
S

Let the flame wars begin, jajajaja.

Now you may ask what is so special with Denmark that it could even remotely compete with America? We know for a fact that they do not have the wealth as that of an American. Denmark is rarely even in the news and isn't even considered a power house in the U.N. so why would it be a better place to live?

It's all in the socialism, the ideal that people are, within a reasonable boundry, equal. Yes, i'll be the first to admit that the concept has its flaws, as does democracy though. Look at our country, we are in a constant struggle for not taxing the rich because of all the money they "put" into our economy then turn around and tax them out the ass because they can "afford" it.

All i'm saying is that figures point to Denmark as being one of the happiest countries in the world. Despite the limited say in government, despite the absolutely insane taxes, there are more people living more comfortably in Denmark then there is in America.

The main reason for comfortable living is this:

Better health care, better insurence and better tuition schemes for people in Denmark then that of America.

With all this being exciting and all Denmark is NOT perfect, if you are a strong believer in civil rights i would not suggest living in this country.

So as i stated before, Denmark is a better country then America, in a sense that the country makes the people in it happier, Happiness in essence is the deciding factor of why you would want to live in a certian location. (vast majority of the time).

Again, political topics are generally frowned upon, this is neither a heated discussion or have to do with the nasty domestic politics in our country, just some interesting information and a shocking conclusion to who is the happiest country in the world (according to a 2008 world values survey).

Some food for thought.

I'm bored, lets review: Thr3e

Written by Alan B. McElroy and Ted Dekker, directed by Robby Henson; today i present my thoughts on the movie Thr3e:

Taking place in the life of a NYC career student, Kevin Parson (Marc Blucas), strugles with demons of his past as a serial psychopathic murderer plays riddles and puzzles to provoke Kevin to tell his darkest secret...

Blah blah blah blah...

Let's get down to the nuts and bolts of this shall we? The main things i look at when i'm looking for a good movie is these three objectives: Was it thought out well? Executed well? Did the ending leave the viewers satisfied?

Well the answers are.... Yes, yes and yes.
The movie starts out kind of slow as most do, developing plot and such, at first i thought this movie was going to have another one of those teen screams or who dun it themes to it.. boy was i wrong.

Excellent acting by Blucas (a favorite actor of mine, perhaps i'm a bit bias) as the story unfolds. As expected there is plenty of twists and suprises in this psycological thriller. As the story advanced the movie really became more intense, suspenseful and enigmatic, as any good thriller should. The thing i couldn't help but feel was as if the actor wanted you to think he made a really bad movie and gradually tell you "J/k i actually got some skillz". One complaint i have however, and alot of movies do this, is that there was a sense of realism that was held through out the majority of the movie that kind of broke it's vowels towards the end. The inconsistency of a theme really erks me sometimes.

Usually novel made movies tend to lead to dissapointment and as usual, i did not read the novel so i can not make a comment on that point.

Overall, i thought it was a great movie, surely worth 2 1/2 hours of your life. As i will state below and i'm sure i will state a million times again:

If you have Netflix or a friend that has it, you can stream this movie instantly and no hassle, as the same with most the movies i review on this blog, there is nothing to lose even if i say it is terrible!

My ratings:

Pro: Very good story, well executed.

Con: Little to no replay value.

My decision: Watch it fosho. 8/10

Double D (Dauthidark)

Jams you just can't get out of your head: Pendulum

Ah.... good ole' Pendulum. Not everyday you can say you know of an Australian band (To be fair, they are located in England now.... /cringe) that produces good music. Hell, before these guys i had no idea what those crazy Australians listen to relating to music. I find "Propane Nightmares" to be a catchy song, one of those songs that gets better every time you listen to it. This band is fairly big in Europe and has had some decent exposure in the states as well. You may be thinking "Well why havn't i heard of this band then?", you probably have, listen thier biggest song called "Hold your colour". Go ahead, go youtube it after this.

If you like electronica or even just a fresh, unique sound in your rock music; these guys are worth your time. I have a deep appriciation for overseas rock and these guys are no exception.

8)The WWE becoming unbearable to watch.
